Some Children of John Moore & Betsy Jane Lemonds
Pinkney Moore
6 Apr 1810: Pinkney was born in Rockingham County, NC.[1]
9 Jan 1836: Pinkney married Sarah Lowe in Rockingham, with E. B. Lemmonds as bondsman.[2] Ellison B. Lemonds was the son of George Lemonds and Elizabeth Sprout, and thus Pinkney's uncle.
25 Aug 1835: He witnessed a deed of trust from John Lowe to Polly and Sally Lowe. The other witness was John L. Moore.[3] John L. Moore was the son of Isaac and Sarah Peeples Moore.
10 Oct 1837: He purchased 115 acres on the waters of Big Troublesome Creek adjoining Robert Brown, John, Thomas, and A. Massey from William and Elizabeth Walker for $202.50. The deed was witnessed by E. Witty.[4] For creek locati0ns, see Relevant Water Courses in Rockingham County.
Pinkney apparently moved to IN by 1840, then went to Shelby County, IL by 1845. During these years, wife Sarah died.
2 Oct 1850 Census, Wakefield, Shelby County, IL: Farmer Pernica More, a male age 40, born NC, with property valued at $400; Elizabeth 25, born TN; Zachariah 14, born NC; Madison 9, born IN; Hannah 6, born IN; Manervia 4, born IL; Mercy 2, born IL.[5]
1860 Census, Shelby County, IL (Cold Spring P.O.): Farmer Pinkney Moore 50, born NC, with real and personal property valued at $1,600 and $1,050; Elizabeth 30, born IL; farm laborer Zachariah 22, born NC; farm laborer Madison 20, born IN; Fanny 17, born IN; Minerva 15, born IL; Mary 12; Emily J. 9; Julia 4; Thomas 6; Elizabeth 2.
I've not been able to locate Pinkney/Pinckney in any other census, although son Zach is residing in Shelby County in 1870.
Children of Pinkney Moore: I'm assuming that the three youngest children in the 1860 Census were Elizabeth's; but she could've also been the mother of Hannah/Fanny, Minerva, and Mary/Mercy. According to Gordon Price, Pinkney's post 1860 children were George P. (c. 1867) and Jane J. (c. 1868) Moore. And according to Kathleen Cormack, there was also a daughter Pernettia A. Moore (b. 1862). These children were obviously Elizabeth's.

Thursy Moore and 1) George Martin 2) William Miller
1 Nov 1817: Thursy Moore was born in Rockingham County, NC.
5 Sep 1833: She married George W. Martin, with Briss Martin as bondsman.[6]
"Thursa Martin" was a member of the Speedwell Presbyterian Church.[7]
George and Thursy moved to MO, but whether they went there with her family in 1840 or preceded them isn't known. What is known is that George died in Cole County, MO in 1840. He's buried in Grey's Creek.
23 Nov 1842: Thursy married William Miller [born 4 Aug 1796] in Cole County. Another source claims the date of Thursey's marriage to William Miller was 25 Oct 1842. Perhaps that was the date of the marriage bond.
3 Oct 1850 Census, Moniteau County, MO (District 58): Farmer William Miller 53, born VA, with property worth $800; Thursey 33, born NC; Mary 17, born MO; Missouri 15, born NC; Andrew 11, born MO; Nancy 12, born NC; Young 9, born MO; William 6; Jonathan 4; George 2; Louisa 28. Mary, Andrew, and Young are the children of William's wife Nancy Allen; but who are Missouri and Nancy? Are they Thursy's daughters by George Martin?
William served as County Court Judge in both Cole and Moniteau Counties, and Probate Judge in Moniteau County. He was also a State Representative from Moniteau County.
4 Aug 1860 Census, Moniteau County, MO (Twp 45, Range 15): Farmer William Miller 64, born VA, with property valued at $6,500; Thursa 44, born NC; Young E. 18 Jul 1861: Thursy died in Cooper County, MO.
William Miller may have married Harriet Williams on 23 Apr 1863. William died on 16 Nov 1865 and was buried in Elston Cemetery, Moniteau County, MO.
Children of Thursy Moore Martin Miller:
William Monroe Miller (17 Nov 1843 - )

Milton Moore & Margaret Henley
18 Feb 1828: Milton was born in Rockingham County.
25 Nov 1844: The Milton Moore who had 123 acres on the waters of Big Troublesome Creek adjoining Robert Brown and Richard Henderson seized by writ of vendi expro for $288.26 in favor of George D. Boyd and Henderson D. Moore must have been a different man. John and Jane's son would have been too young. This parcel was purchased at auction by Alfred M. Whitsett.[9]
31 Sep 1850 Census, Cole County, MO: Farmer Milton age 22, born NC, was enumerated in the household of farmer [and father] John Moore 67, born MD, with property valued at $1,000; Jane 59, born NC; Emily J. 16, born NC; farmer Henry 20, born NC; farmer Presley E. 26, born MO, with property worth $100; Elizabeth Miller 23, born NC.[10]

1880 Census, Tarrant County, TX: Farmer Milton Moore 52, NC MD NC; Margaret A. 46, MO TN TN; Harvey 8, TX NC MO; Jesse 2, TX NC MO; farm laborer 23, TN TN Unk. The family was enumerated next to John and Matilda J. [Moore] Priss.
2 Jun 1900 Census, Tarrant County, TX: Farmer Milton Moore 72, born Feb 1828, NC MD NC, married for 48 years; Margaret 66, born Mar 1834, MO TN TN, mother of 6 children, five living; son and farm laborer Jess S. 22, born Aug 1878, TX NC MO.[12]
14 Feb 1914: Milton died in Tarrant County, TX.
Children of Milton and Margaret Henley Moore: There's no explanation for the large gap in Margaret's child bearing. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find the family in the 1870 Census, which might clear up that question.
